Alexander Morozevich, Boris Avrukh, Alexander Areshchenko and Yuryi Kuzubov enter the last round of the Alois Nagler Memorial with the same number of points. While Boris Avrukh couldn’t muscle more than a draw with the white pieces in his game against Emil Sutovsky, the other three grandmasters were rewarded with full points for the risks they took on the board. Among the top pairs in the end round – Morozevich-Avrukh and Kuzubov-Areshchenko – we will likely have the tournament winner. Yannick Pelletier, still the highest-ranked Swiss, drew against Mikhalevski and now counts among 13 players challenging the leaders, but his 6 points see him with half point less than the top dogs. Swiss countryman Afrim Fejzullahu conceded defeat to the experienced Vladimir Malaniuk. In the Accentus (Swiss Chess) Open, Nino Wilkins defeated Einora Juciute, and has taken over Juciute’s lead with a strong 7.5 points. The end round of the Jubilee-Open begins in the Kongresshaus Zürich on Saturday at 9.30 a.m.
