After four rounds of the Alois Nagler Memorial, grandmasters Dreev und Areshchenko pulled ahead of the rest of the field: the former World Championship candidate Dreev, with his body-and stomach variant (Slav Defence) against Mikhalevski; and his young grandmaster colleague, Areshchenko, over the American young talent, Hess. Everybody else had already forfeited at least a half a point, including Super-GM Alexander Morozevich (against Geetha). Of the Swiss players, Yannick Pelletier is on the heels of the leading duo, having defeated his countryman Gérard Nüesch, while Boris Avrukh took the match against Oliver Kurmann. Surprisingly, the 15-year old Grandmaster from China, Hou Yifan, drew the short straw against International Master Agopov, who was considered the underdog going into the match. In the General Tournament, six players with the full number of points lead among 264 participants. Another double round is slated for the Jubilee-Open on Wednesday.
