In the second round of the Jubilee-Open, too, all the favourites saved face. No less than 42 players in the Master Tournament managed the challenging start of the double round, so could retain all their points. Panagiotis Adamantidis (Baden) was the surprise among them: the only player without a title. Other Swiss in the current lead are GM Yannick Pelletier (Montpellier) and IM Oliver Kurmann (Neudorf). On top board, the Swiss IM Olivier Moor (Baar) challenged top favorite Alexander Morozevich, but had to concede defeat in the end. The young stars Hou Yifan (China) and Anish Giri (The Netherlands) are still very much in the running. The Jubilee-Open enters its third round this afternoon. From here, heavyweights will challenge one another directly, e.g. the former world championship candidates Alexey Dreev und Lajos Portisch.
